Incident: disruption following a cyber incident - update

Further to Incident Bulletin 13.01.2023, the designated operator of the United Kingdom, Royal Mail, wishes to provide with an update on dispatch arrangements during the period of severe disruption caused by the recent cyber incident.

Royal Mail previously stated that it was temporarily unable to dispatch letters and small packets to overseas destinations via its export systems. However, as of 18 January 2023 and in line with UPU regulations, Royal Mail is able to implement manual dispatches to all partner designated operators for letter and flat items (classified as P or G format).

Full import operations are continuing, though with some minor delays. Meanwhile, parcel and EMS services via Parcelforce Worldwide are still operating, but customers should expect delays of one to two days.

Royal Mail continues to work with its partners and stakeholders to resolve this disruption. Partner operators will be updated as soon as more information is available.
