France

End date: ongoing
Incident: coronavirus

The designated operator of France, La Poste, had informed us of the evolving COVID-19 situation in Guadeloupe and Martinique.

In these two departments, the introduction of curfews has slowed the spread of the virus. La Poste is, of course, complying with all the measures taken by the government to protect the health of postal workers and the population. During this year-end period, mail collection and delivery is no longer possible.

Moreover, La Poste is still not in a position to accept letter-post, parcel-post or EMS items in closed transit dispatches for either Guadeloupe or Martinique. Lastly, flights for Guadeloupe and Martinique are currently operating at full capacity and airport storage facilities are overloaded.
