The designated operator of Canada, Canada Post, wishes to inform that a state of emergency has been declared for the province of British Columbia, owing to adverse weather conditions including flooding, rockslides and mudslides.

Multiple road closures and damaged railway lines and bridges are affecting ground transportation and delivery operations across western Canada, and both inbound and outbound letter-post and parcel-post flows are suffering disruption. Updates can be found at canadapost.ca/servicealerts.

 

Italy

Poste Italiane wishes to inform that the heavy rain in the western part of Sicily has ended, and the situation is back to normal as of 18 November 2021.

Incident: strike

Poste Italiane informs that today a 24-hour strike is called, involving the personnel working in the airports of Milano Malpensa and Milano Linate (MXP and LIN).
The strike started at midnight and will end at 23h59.

Delays may expected in the handling of both inbound and outbound products, although the level of participation is not confirmed.
 


Liechtenstein

The designated operator of Liechtenstein, Liechtensteinische Post AG, informs  that, owing to the fourth wave of COVID-19 infections, it is having to introduce staggered home deliveries of letter-post items with effect from 29 November 2021, and probably until 23 December 2021.

Letter-post items for postcode areas 9490, 9494 to 9498 will be delivered on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays; for the other postcode areas, deliveries will be made on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
 

Slovakia

The designated operator of Slovakia, Slovenská Pošta, wishes to inform that the Slovakian Government has decided to implement strict lockdown measures throughout the country, with effect from midnight (local time) on 25 November 2021. Furthermore, a national state of emergency will apply as of the same date and time for 90 days. A curfew will be implemented for the next two weeks and the Government is expected to announce further measures after 9 December 2021.

The national lockdown measures include the mandatory closure of non-essential shops and certain other services.

Slovenská Pošta will continue to provide postal services in line with these public health measures and other restrictions, but will be operating with a reduced workforce. The processing and delivery of all types of inbound and outbound mail (letter-post, parcel-post and EMS items) will be affected.
