The designated operator of Brazil, Empresa Brasileira de Correios e Telégrafos (ECT), had informed that the situation that was causing delays at the Curitiba international mail processing centre has now been resolved. As a result, mail processing operations have returned to normal.
 

Georgia

The designated operator of Georgia, Georgian Post, had informed that, owing to an outbreak of COVID-19 infections, the verification unit serving the Tbilisi international mail processing centres (IMPC codes beginning with GETBS) has been locked down.

With all staff testing positive, operations at the unit are paralyzed. As a result, Georgian Post will be unable to provide verification notes to its partners with effect from 17 November 2021.

Georgian Post requests that the above situation is taken into account and any delays are treated as exceptional.


Italy

Incident: heavy rain

The designated operator of Italy, Poste Italiane, wishes to inform that heavy rain in the western part of Sicily on 11 and 12 November and since 16 November has led to heavy, widespread floods, landslides and road closures.

Consequently, transport, processing and delivery operations in western Sicily, for both inbound and outbound letter-post and parcel-post items, are likely to be disrupted, and Poste Italiane has declared a situation of force majeure.

Poste Italiane thanks all Union member countries and their designated operators for their understanding. It will provide an update once the situation is back to normal.

Incident: IT issues

Poste Italiane are in the process of trying to fix the messaging issues which are affecting the tracking status of tracked items and shared the latest update on the following:

  1. The situation has slightly improved over the last week regarding the items blocked in connection with the error message received by the Customs systems. Nevertheless, only 50% of such items have been released. Our IT services are continuously working to solve these issues, together with their Customs counterparts.
  2. While most of the data transmission/reception issues have been analyzed, further developments to our systems are required to resolve them. Once a deployment date has been established, Poste Italiane will inform all members.



New Caledonia

The Office of Posts and Telecommunications (OPT-NC), France's designated operator for New Caledonia, wishes to inform other that, from 15 November 2021 onwards, letter-post, parcel-post and EMS items requiring the addressee's signature will again be delivered against the addressee's signature

The designated operator of Thailand, Thailand Post, had informed that the flood waters in the following postcode areas have subsided, meaning that mail operations and delivery of postal items are now back to normal: 18xxx, 23xxx, 25xxx, 30xxx, 36xxx.

However, the following postcode areas are still affected by the flooding, which may cause delays in mail operations and delivery of postal items:
