Shanghai Pudong Airport resumes operations after Typhoon Chanthu: operations have resumed at Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG) since September 14 and at Pudong Air Cargo Terminal (PACTL) after a 48-hour closure due to Typhoon Chanthu.

The cargo congestion has reportedly been exacerbated, and transit times currently face 3-5 days of delay.

New Caledonia

The designated operator of New Caledonia, the Office of Posts and Telecommunications (OPT-NC), wishes to inform that the Government of New Caledonia has decided to impose strict lockdown measures, effective as of noon (local time) on 7 September 2021, in order to limit the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

For the duration of the lockdown, movement will be restricted and transport services will be limited. This will affect the processing and delivery of inbound and outbound postal items.

For all letter-post, parcel-post and EMS items requiring a signature on delivery, the addressee's signature will be replaced by that of the postman/woman or OPT-NC agent.

The storm reportedly brough strong winds and heavy rainfall. Flash flood watches are in effect for parts of the Florida Panhandle and parts of south-central Georgia.
