A state of emergency has been declared for the US state of New Jersey and New York City in the evening of September 1 due to severe flooding, brought by remnants of Hurricane Ida. Newark Liberty International Airport suspended all flight activity for several hours in the evening of September 1, while flight disruptions have also been reported for New York City airports LaGuardia and JFK. Major transport disruptions should be anticipated throughout the coming days.
