Mali

Start date: 17 May 2021

End date: 20 May 2021

Incident: strike action

The designated operator of Mali, La Poste du Mali, informs other Union member countries and their designated operators that the National Workers’ Union of Mali (UNTM) has called a strike from 17 to 20 May 2021.

The strike will affect the entire country. Inbound and outbound mail operations (letter-post, parcel-post and EMS items) will be disrupted during this period.

Nepal

Start date: 27 March 2020
End date: ongoing
Incident: coronavirus

The designated operator of Nepal, Nepal Post, informs that the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has extended the suspension of international flights until midnight 31 May 2021. CAAN has also announced that all domestic flights are suspended until midnight 31 May. The operation of cargo flights, rescue flights and evacuation flights will be carried out subject to special permission. Two flights per week will be permitted between Nepal and India under the air travel bubble arrangement effective until 31 May, subject to certain conditions. The partial lockdown has already been extended until 27 May 2021.

These measures may result in delays in the collection, transportation and delivery of mails. Nepal Post will continue to be unable to accept outbound mails to countries other than India, until such time as the passenger flights normally used to transport mail are resumed.

Slovakia

Start date: 20 March 2021
End date: 18 May 2021
Incident: coronavirus

The designated operator of Slovakia, Slovenská Pošta, would like to inform that the state of emergency previously announced has now ended.

However, the restrictions in terms of service standards and application of force majeure announced previously remain in place.

Slovenia

Start date: 17 March 2020

End date: ongoing

Incident: coronavirus

The designated operator of Slovenia, Pošta Slovenije, wishes to inform that, although the Government of Slovenia has eased certain restrictions with regard to hospitality, tourism, sports, culture and education, it has extended the lockdown in response to the COVID-19 pandemic by a further 30 days, with effect from 17 May 2021.

Pošta Slovenije continues to provide postal services in line with national public health guidelines and restrictions, but is operating with a reduced workforce. The processing and delivery of all types of inbound and outbound mail (letter-post, parcel-post and EMS items) continues to be affected, and Pošta Slovenije is unable to guarantee compliance with the agreed standards. The acceptance of outbound mail items (letter post, parcel post and EMS) for some destinations remains subject to transport availability.

Therefore, the situation of force majeure previously declared is being extended until further notice, and the restrictions announced previously continue to apply.
