The designated operator of Colombia, Servicios Postales Nacionales S.A. 4-72, asks us to inform that Colombia has put special measures in place to limit the spread of Coronavirus. Postal de Colombia need to comply and is also likely to have a reduced workforce available, and not be able to deliver all mail to specifications. Signature on delivery is suspended and delays to mail services are due to be expected.

Incident: landslide

Landslide closes section of the Pan-American Highway: it was reported that a section of the Pan-American highway has been closed in both directions due to landslides at kilometer 34 between Pasto and Ipiales in Colombia. The exact timetable for when traffic will resume has not been disclosed, however, cleanup efforts are underway.
 

Slovenia

The designated operator of Slovenia, Pošta Slovenije, wishes to inform that, as a result of concerns about the course of the pandemic, the government has extended the current lockdown by a further 30 days with effect from 17 April 2021.

Pošta Slovenije will continue to provide postal services with a reduced workforce, in line with public health measures and other restrictions. The processing and delivery of all types of inbound and outbound mail (letter post, parcel post and EMS items) will continue to be affected, and Pošta Slovenije is unable to guarantee compliance with the agreed standards. The acceptance of outbound mail items (letter post, parcel post and EMS) for some destinations is still subject to transport availability.

Therefore, the force majeure situation previously notified remains extended until further notice, and the restrictions announced previously will continue to apply.
 

South Africa

The designated operator of South Africa, South African Post Office (SAPO), asks us to inform that the transit mail service has been suspended until further notice.

 

This is due to the prevailing COVID-19 situation and the unavailability of flights. SAPO is, however, in discussion with other airlines to transport its mail. Once the discussions are concluded, it will be able to offer the transit mail service.

 

Nevertheless, in the interim, the transit service will remain available for mail exchanged among the following five countries: Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Mozambique and Namibia.
