Belarus

The designated operator of Belarus, the Republican Unitary Enterprise of Posts “Belpochta”, informs that inbound international items (letter post, parcels and EMS) are now being processed and delivered as normal.

However, Belpochta is still unable to send mail to certain countries owing to a lack of logistical options.

Colombia

Truckers announce national protest: it has been reported that truckers with the Colombian Confederation of Transporters (CCT) announced a national protest for February 15, against an increase in tolls and the opening of new toll booths.

Caravans and peaceful mobilizations are expected on the major roads across the country.
 

France

Since the middle of last week, France has been subject to various climate problems:

•  Bad weather in the South-West with heavy rain has reduced the punctuality of transport links last week
• Weather conditions (snow and frost) over the Loire have prevented lorry traffic and/or the exit of Factors in distribution in certain regions since the beginning of this week

 
These difficulties are having an impact on quality of service and can lead to delays in processing and delivery.

Greece

Even though the whole Greece territory is under a lockdown since the beginning of November 2020, the situation does not seem to have improved significantly. In fact, over the last days there has been a rising alarm in Greece, considering that the number of infections is rising rapidly, while the new strain of the virus is also worryingly affecting younger ages.

To prevent an aggravation of this situation, the Government announced yesterday an even harder local lockdown for Attica region (where half of the GR habitants live), as of 11 February 2021. It’s very likely that more regions will follow during the next days.

This situation will have direct effects on all operations.
Hellenic Post will do their best in order to minimize these effects.

Indonesia

An earthquake has hit Sulawesi Island, affecting the areas of Mamuju and Majene. As a result, there has been physical damage to facilities and public services are disrupted.

Furthermore, heavy rain in the Central Java and West Java provinces has caused floods, which are affecting postal operations. Delays are therefore to be expected in the processing and delivery of letter-post, parcel-post and EMS items.

The following postcode areas are affected (as of 9 February 2021):

• West Java province

• Central Java province

• West Sulawesi province

Latvia

Start date: 18 March 2020
End date: ongoing

The designated operator of Latvia, Latvijas Pasts, informs that the Latvian Government has extended the state of emergency until at least 6 April 2021.

Therefore, the situation of force majeure previously declared is being extended until further notice.

During the state of emergency, postal services will continue to function with restrictions such as reduced working hours in post offices and reduction of the workforce to minimize contact between people.

 

Slovakia

The designated operator of Slovakia, Slovenská Pošta, would like to inform that the Slovakian Government has extended the state of emergency until at least 19 March 2021. The officially published decision is available in the Slovak language only via the following link: https://www.slov-lex.sk/pravne-predpisy/SK/ZZ/2021/49/.

Slovenská Pošta will continue to provide postal services in line with public health measures and other restrictions, but with a reduced workforce. The processing and delivery of all types of inbound and outbound mail (letter-post, parcel-post and EMS items) will continue to be affected, and Slovenská pošta is unable to guarantee compliance with the agreed standards.

The situation of force majeure previously notified is extended until further notice, and the restrictions announced previously will continue to apply.
